Juventus has secured goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham on a loan arrangement that includes a purchase option for next summer, the Serie A club announced. The Italian stopper will depart north London after losing the starting position under manager Roberto De Zerbi to rival Antonin Kinsky. The loan deal carries a permanent transfer clause valued at €9.5 million should Juventus choose to complete the acquisition in 2026.
The move comes after Juventus abandoned pursuit of Aston Villa's Emiliano Martínez. The Argentine international had been a target for the Italian giants, but Villa's acquisition of Parma midfielder Zion Suzuki for approximately £30 million appeared to signal their goalkeeper's availability. However, Juventus withdrew from negotiations following a rejected €10 million bid over the weekend. Martínez is currently recuperating from a finger injury sustained during the 2025-26 season.
Vicario, capped by Italy, becomes the primary addition to Juventus's goalkeeping contingent as they seek reinforcements in their defensive lineup.
